The U.S. debt rating was again downgraded on Friday so now we are below AAA from both major rating agency’s. The new budget proposals do nothing to change that. No line item veto no zero based budget, no rollbacks to pre-COVID spending levels. We are Mr. Creosote from Monty Pythons ‘The Meaning of Life’. In Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life, Mr. Creosote explodes after consuming an extremely large amount of food and then a final, wafer-thin mint. The explosion is a result of his overeating and the seemingly insignificant trigger of the mint.
